Shots had been fired and no doubt his ma was sitting beside the phone, checking her bank account and preparing to bail her son out of jail tonight, because he had that killer look in his eyes. Kingston and Knight, both fresh out of the gate, both looking to make a name for themselves here. It was all to play for, all on the line, make or break - cause only one of them was walking out with there hand held high and moving onto bigger and better things.
“There you go again, twisting and turning those words. It is a nice trick you got there, but times have changed. This is a new world - a new wrestling world and a guy like you, you ain’t gonna last buddy. I look at you - and yeah your right. You got everything I don’t got - so what? YOU THINK THAT WILL CHANGE ANYTHING? You think all that shit the devil in Connecticut is going to care about, when they are scrapping pieces off you off the mat tonight? You got everything that son of a bitch wants. You look like a MILLION BUCKS. Look at ya. You look fantastic. Your right - I am a FAT PIECE OF SHIT. I hold my hands up, I ain’t got the look. I ain’t got the body, but none of that matters. I GOT THE MOTHER FUCKING HEART! Something you sold a long time ago Knight. I got the drive, to go the distance. You look at me and you write me off - and that’s why people like you end up on your HANDS AND KNEES, picking up your teeth. I was WRONG about you Knight. I thought you had some sense, but you don’t know shit. You ain’t from the same streets like me. Looks, body - none of that matters. The only thing that matters is how hard you can get hit and keep coming back for more. It’s about how much of a BEATING you can take before you throw in the towel. Knight - my towel still has the PRICE TAG on it. My towel is still folded up and in my bathroom. THERE AIN’T NO FIGHT I HAVE EVER BACKED DOWN FROM. There ain’t no man I have ever ducked and dodged. I have faced them all, beaten most, got my ass handed by others - but I was still ticking, still going and like the HUNGRY DOG that I am, I came back for more. You got that sports entertainer hat on you kid. This ain’t land, this is real - as real as it is ever gonna get for you. Looks mean nothing at the end of the day. You think I am some TRASH that wondered off the street and your FUCKING right. I am TRASH. I am the SHIT under your boot. I am that BEGGAR you avoid, you cross the street to get away from - because your right to do so. I am DANGEROUS. I have been fighting from day dot, every single day I have been fighting for what is mine and someone like you, a little shit talker like you - on the streets I’d have left you on the curb with your head smashed in - I’ll settle for leaving you flat on your back. You can throw your BEST at me Knight, but I’m telling you right now - YOUR BEST AIN’T GONNA CUT IT!”
He moved, quickly as well, far quicker for a man of his size and he was right there. At the ring, on the apron and staring right in the eyes of LA Knight. All it would take would be one stiff punch to his face, break it, shatter it, end it right now, but he breaths - calms himself and just shakes his head and smirks. All good things come to those who wait and he only has a little bit longer to go.
“There you go again - spitting out your catchphrases. YEAAAAAUH, YEAAAAAUH, YEAAAAAUH. Listen to yourself for a minute would you. No wonder no one likes ya, no wonder you don’t last in companies, because your out dated Knight. Wrestling has changed and it has changed for the BETTER. You represent the PAST and I represent the FUTURE. I know you will LAUGH, you will roll your eyes, but it is the truth. Looks, bodies, catchphrases, none of that matters. It is TALENT. That’s it, that’s the only thing that matters to the people now. Everything has changed, they don’t want sports entertainment anymore, they are sick and tired of that shit. They want wrestling and unlike you Knight - that is something I can do. I have been wrestling for twenty years, and all you have been doing for twenty years is entertaining - and trust me Knight, I use that word very loosely, because if anyone finds you remotely entertaining, they need there head examined. You got unlucky with this one. You picked the short straw Knight. You could have been something here if you stayed outta of my way, but here we are. Both fresh in this company - both looking for the same things. I ain’t the sharing type of dog and neither are you, so it is BETTER this way to end this SHIT here and now, on day one before it drags on. I don’t like you, I don’t like anything about you. Right now I just wanna pop you right in the jaw and shut you up, cause the only thing that words for you - is ya mouth. You got me good Knight. Talked shit to me, right to my face. Made me out to be a fucking TRAMP. Insulted me in front of all these people. Ran your mouth until the cows come home. You got some FUCKING BALLS on you. Now it is time to see if you can back it up. You talk big, but can you throw down when it matters, cause looking at ya, my ma could take you easily Knight. So call me a DUMMY all you want, laugh your ass off, cause later I’m gonna be kicking it all around the ring. I am gonna take my time with you Knight, make an example out of you. There was a time I would have played ball, drawn something outta ya, got you fired up - made you look real nice for the lads, but that’s done. All that shit is finished. I ain’t here to lay down, I ain’t here to make stars and I ain’t here to be your bitch Knight. I am here - to be WORLD CHAMPION. It’s gonna to be a long slog to the top, but if it means I get to SMASH through little pricks like you on my way to the CHAMPIONSHIP - then I might ENJOY myself on the way.”
Kingston would throw the microphone down inside the ring as he would raise his hand and point right at Knight one more time. No more of this shit, no more talking, no more mouthing off. He was done. Enough had been said, it was time to leave it all in the ring and see which of them was the better man.
