MONEY IN THE BANK

Those words alone still haunted him till this very day. You see it was on that show that he made his return to WWE. It was on that show that American Alpha once again stepped into a WWE ring and it was at that show that there hopes and there dreams slipped through there fingers and there was nothing they could have done to stop it from happening. Money In The Bank - to think back that far still caused him pain. To cast his mind back unto that day, to allow his mind to drift for a moment.

OF WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN. OF WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN. OF WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN.

American Alpha had made their return on that show. After months being away from WWE they at long last made there historic comeback and true, they put on one heck of a showing and all eyes were upon them and for some that would be more than enough, but for them and mostly Jason it was not enough. He did not get into the ring just to put on a good show. He did not get into the ring just to come close, but not close enough. You all know who his father is. You all know his background. He is the type of man who is driven by nothing but success and anything other than that in his eyes is a failure.

Jason Jordan stood backstage. He was warming up close to the steps in the back, those very same steps he would have to walk up when his name was called out to make his entrance. A soft sigh would escape him for a moment as one of the WWE interviewers would come up to him. There would be a small nod of his head, allowing the man to come near him, to exchange a few words on what was to happen.

“Jason this is another big night for you, but before we get into the main event match I want to ask you something personal. There are rumors going around that you are hurt? That you are having neck issues and that retirement may be something that you are considering? Is there any truth this?”

The interviewer leaned forward and looked at Jason, who merely just smirked and chuckled a bit, obviously thinking that the question the interviewer had asked was laughable. Jason opened his mouth and spoke, answering the question that the interviewer had just asked.

“I have NEVER once thought about retirement. As long as I can get up in the morning, go to the Gym and feel like I can still do this, I will always continue to do this. THIS IS MY LIFE. I have spent the past years building my legacy. It's my job as a husband to be on the road for three-hundred days out of the year and make enough money to make sure my wife and down the line my kids - have the life I never had. Don't get me wrong, I had a great childhood growing up;. My mom raised me and my brothers and I made a promise to myself that I will do whatever it took to make sure she never had to worry about money or anything. I did just that by becoming one of the best performers in history. I'm now doing this to make sure that when I retire, my family is secured and my children will be able to go whatever College they desire. There's still a lot of fight left in my body, I think. I don't wanna' be one of the guys that still do this in their sixties, taking ages to walk down the ramp and only here for more money. I'm here to prove something to everyone. Many thought I would have never had even made it here, but I proved them wrong. And this Sunday night? I'm going to prove them wrong again because I refuse to even contemplate retirement before I hold the Money In The Bank Briefcase. I want that more than anything in the World right now and the fact that I get the chance to do this before my mother, my brothers and my partner I'd say that's a sign.”

Jason Jordan would speak with so much passion. His neck was hurting, everyone in the company knew that, even the people who watched knew that his neck was in a bad way, but to him that meant nothing, it only meant he would have to work that much harder to make up for the injury and ensure he was strong enough that no one could take advantage of the weakness.

“I am just in awe at your confidence. Even with the pressure of performing in front of your friends and family, you remained focus throughout this. Even with the daunting task of forty nine other men looking to put you down, how do you remain this focused?”

He closed his eyes, he could feel the sting in the back of his head as he slowly nodded his head, it was a good question to ask him. There were forty nine other men in this match. Most of them if not all of them did not have neck issues like he did. Yet all of them, every single last one of them wanted this as much as he wanted it. Each and every single one of them wanted this briefcase, because with that in there hands, every single door would open and anything would be possible. Jason would glance down at the ground for a moment as a heavy sigh would leave him. His mother, his brothers even his wife would be here tonight and they were coming for one thing and only one thing - they were coming to see him win.

“I consider myself a student of the game. The first thing I was taught when I broke into this business was always remain focused on what you want to accomplish. Not taking your eyes off the prize is one of the most important things you can do in this business. The great Champions of this Sport have taken that advice and mastered it. The greats like Ric Flair, Harley Race, Rickie Steamboat - the list goes on and on, and even includes former World Heavyweight Champions, too. My work is never done. I study film like I'm still a rookie. I study what my opponents do and what holes they have. I have been watching everyone since I arrived here. I have had my eyes on everyone in the back. It didn’t matter if I faced them or not, I still went above and beyond to watch them, to see there work and to find any weakness in there craft and all of that planning and attention to detail has paid off. I mean come on - a match with fifty men in it, me having a bad neck - you would think that I have no chance at all in victory, but that would be where you are wrong. I know that chances like this don’t come very often, it is for that reason why I am going to give it my all, even if it kills me. Tonight could be the last time I get to challenge for a something like this.. Tonight may be the lasttime I get to be on top of the World and truly be considered the best Professional Wrestler on this planet, and I'm going to do whatever it takes to make sure that happens. When that bell rings and I look on the outside to see my wife, my brothers, my friends and my mother sitting there, hoping I come home with that briefcase in my hands? I'll be on a whole different level. These men have never faced a more determined individual than me tonight. I will stop at NOTHING until I am the world Heavyweight Champion. You understand me? NOTHING! This may be my one and only chance at this, and I'll be DAMNED if I let it slip through my fingertips! Not this time... not ever again. With the whole World on my shoulders, that's when I shine best. I have wanted this from the moment I was born. I have worked every damn day get to this moment. This is it for me. This is my only chance for me. There will never be another moment like this for me. There will never be another chance for me. I have to win and I am going to win it and in the words of my father. I guarantee it,. I guaran-DAMN-tee it! And I can say that with a smile on my face, because it’s true, ITS DAMN TRUE!”

The interviewer would not his head as he would take his leave. He got what he needed and there was nothing more to be said as he left Jason Jordan standing in the Gorilla position and he was one second away from hearing his music blare throughout the arena. Jason stood there, inhaling and exhaling, as the seconds seemed like hours. The fans were chanting his name over and over, as it was the only thing that could be heard. Jason closed his eyes and listened, as he continued to breathe heavily. He looks down for a moment a heavy breath leaving him as this was it, as the clock was up and it was time for Jason Jordan to head out there in front of his friends and family in this great city at one of the big four events and wrestle for the Money In The Bank Briefcase.
