Opportunities are the things which last a lifetime. It's the toughest test of time for every performer who has ever set their sights on the global juggernaut that was the WWE. Opportunity was often in the eyes of the beholder. They would either succeed, or they would fail trying. Opportunity was the name of the game. Money in the bank was the home of crowing achievements world wide. It was the choice put forth by a familiar face. This was his destiny. This was now his opportunity. Chad Gable had the chance to prove himself. After everything he had done prior to this, he knew he had to show some prowl, but above all else -- He had to show heart. This was his journey. All for one thing. A chance to prove to the world that Chad Gable was ready, willing, and Gable. This was his story.
COREY GRAVES
You never know what to expect regarding the Money in the Bank. Everybody wants a chance to change their careers.
JONATHAN COACHMAN
That's the plan, Corey. The name of the game is setting your sights on the biggest prize possible. With anybody allowed to throw their name in the hat, I think this match in particular could be anybodies.
An open invite could mean anybody had the power to show themselves. Chad Gable being no exception to the rule. Coach said it best. Anybody could throw their names in the hat, and with his entrance music radiating over the P.A tron; Chad Gable was on the scene.
COREY GRAVES
A former Olympic wrestler; Chad Gable has the skills needed, but does he have the brains to back it up?
JONATHAN COACHMAN
That's a question I'm sure we'll have answered soon enough. Chad isn't exactly the shiest talent when it comes to confidence. I think we may have a surprise standing before us!
The highly touted performer slowly makes his way to the entrance ramp where he adorns a favorable smile. He seemed genuinely excited to throw his hat into this opportunity. Gable would allow a soft sigh to escape from his lips as he shot towards the ring. He waste no time as he greets the faithful WWE Universe with love and admiration, all before reaching the steel steps. Gable would lick his lips as he shot up the steps, before slowly making his way into the midst of the ring. Gable makes a full three-sixty turn as he shoots to the turnbuckle, climbing the turnbuckle as he threw both hands into the air. He then proceeds off the rope as he lands back onto the mat beneath him. He politely motions for a microphone which is handed to him. Gable gives a small nod of "thanks" as he slowly makes his way into the middle of the ring.
CHAD GABLE
So, I don't know exactly what do say. I'm a little at a loss for words, needless to say. (Gable pauses as he shakes his head. Clearly baffled.) You wouldn't have expected me of all people to come out here, and insert my name into a match that could change everything for me. But there's a sayin' that often goes by the note of, expect the unexpected. (A playful smile creeps across the face of Gable.) Now, I don't know about these guys in the back, but I'm looking for an opportunity. And I can't think of a better place to get the ball rolling than right here in Chicago! (A cheap but effective pop. Even Mick Foley would be proud.) But before I get a little sidetracked, I need to address the elephant in the room. I get that the numbers aren't exactly in my favor. Believe me, I get that. But I've been a firm believer in the numbers game. I don't care how many people I have to go through tonight, but I understand that I'm going to have to scratch and claw my way in order to secure that briefcase.
Gable would lick his lips as he raised his head, glaring at the briefcase that stood before him. The visage of Gable resonated for a few brief moments as he began to pace back and forth. He can't help but chuckle as his heart was on full display.
CHAD GABLE
Now I don't know if people are aware, but I haven't exactly had the most memorable career to this point. Some would say I deserve much more than what I've been giving, and I know there are others who could care less about Chad Gable. (Gable shakes his head. He would roll his tongue in his cheek, following with a small nod.) But tonight I have the power to change EVERYTHING! So many men and women have come to this point, and they have changed their entire career with that briefcase. Tonight being no exception to the rule. I promise you that when the time comes, and the bell ring -- Only one man has the talent, skill, and overall determination to get the job done. And that's, well?
Gable would lick his lips as he cackles an overconfident smile. This thunderous Chicago crowd was split directly down the middle. Gable couldn't help but glare at the briefcase once more. He slowly makes his way outside the ring as he makes his way to the one of many ladders set on the platform for designing purposes. He slowly adjust the ladder, folding in as he places it upon his shoulder as he slides it back inside the ring. He swiftly motions inside the ring as he sets the ladder to the side of the ring. Gable slowly begins to climb, but stops halfway, holding his weight against the ladder for support. He nods slowly as he throws even more words of wisdom for the Chicago natives.
CHAD GABLE
That's Chad Gable...
As expected ,this live Chicago crowd was split directly down the middle for Chad Gable. He wore a smile which stretched from ear to ear. He had every reason to be confident, so why not share it with this Chicago crowd. Gable would slowly begin his climb down the ladder, all before business would pick up.
That sound could mean only one thing; Buddy Murphy was on the prowl. This confident talent waste no time as he makes his way from behind the curtain as he introduces himself to Chad Gable, throwing his name into the picture as well.
BUDDY MURPHY
I couldn't sit back there another moment and hear you waste your time. I mean come on, Chad. Do you actually think for a second that you're capable of walking out with the Money In the Bank? After all, you've made a career out of being a NOBODY! Nobody is going to believe you have a chance whatsoever at defying the odds. Especially considering I'm the man who's leaving with that. (Murphy points directly to the briefcase as the crowd splits their ovation. Some for him, and some for Chad.) But don't worry, Chad. There is nothing wrong with second place, because as I see it? That's as far as you'll ever get when sharing a ring wi--
Straight from a book painted by Jim Morrison, it was a picture worth a million words, a fellow competitor in this Money In The Bank ladder match, John Morrison. Adorning his signature leather jacket, Morrison stands upon the entrance ramp with a large smile. Quickly propelling himself for what stood before him.
JOHN MORRISON
Endless days, and summer delights. Have no fear, Chicago. Your knight in shining armor has arrived. And what a perfect time, I must say. I, unlike Buddy Murphy have not come here to slander your hopes and dreams, Chad. Quite the contrary. Goals are meant to be set, and we try to defy those dreams. Exceed the expectations, and change the paths we set forth. The palace of wisdom has no virtues, and no promises have been set. But I'm sorry, Chad. This place is only big enough for one of us, and it is Johnny Morrison and his bodacious abs who will take the helm as the future of the WWE. But as Murphy said. There's nothing wrong with second best. After all, that's been your career up to this point. But don't worry, Chad. Join the rest of the followers, and take a ride on Starship pain. 'Cause I'm takin' this one. But you the know the rest. BE JEALOUS!
Two highly talented performers in both Buddy Murphy and John Morrison had a point. Chad Gable didn't have much going for him, or at least up to this point. Gable had a tough pill to swallow as he acknowledged both men with a nod as he slowly made his way back into the midst of the ring. The crowd is now split evenly between the three men as he rises with a confident grin. It was rebuttal time, and Gable looked eager as ever to throw some shade.
CHAD GABLE
You're both right. I haven't exactly had a career to remember. I get it. But don't worry, you'll soon see what I'm capable of. Let me turn my attention to you for a second, Buddy. First off, yes. I do think I have what it takes to leave here tonight holding that briefcase. Every man or woman for that matter has a chance to get the job done. Myself included. Weather you like it or not, I'm fighting here tonight for a chance to prove myself. I've got everything needed to excel in this company, and between us? Tonight is the night I finally prove it. (Gable slowly paces back and forth. His emotion was in full swing. He wanted this.) But you're absolutely right. There is nothing wrong with second place, and while we're at it. I don't even think third place is that bad. You two had best get prepared for those spots, because I'm warming those spots up for you. Because the only way I see it, I'm coming for first place, and there isn't a dang thing either of you can do about it. So, boys? Take second, and third. Because when a man has nothing to lose? He's got everything to gain. And that's coincidentally right where I find myself. I have nothing to lose. I'm a true wildcard in this whole scenario, and that eats the both of you alive, but trust me. I get it.
The WWE Universe seemed to slowly edge their ovation for Gable. Showing him that with hard work and determination that he could possibly pull out this upset. Gable can't help but crack a smile as these Chicago fans were now on his side.
CHAD GABLE
But let's not get to ahead of ourselves. I'm a fair man. I prefer to allow my actions to speak louder than my words. I have my entire career. You know what they say; It's not about the dog in the fight, but it's about the fight of the dog. Cliche, and a little outdated, of course. But regardless of the saying, I can promise you both that there isn't a man or woman alive who has the amount of heart I have. I came back to this company because I wanted to show the WWE Universe what I was all about. I have a sour taste in my mouth, because for so long -- I've been inches away from jumping over the obstacles which held me back. But tonight? Oh, how I can't wait to smash through 'em. Because tonight is the night, I prove to myself that this is where I belong. That I can get the job done. Because unlike everybody else? I am ready. I am willing, but most importantly? I am Gable.
Those were the closing words from Gable who drops his microphone, looking over both Morrison, and Murphy. The time for talking was over. It was now time for yet another epic Money in the Bank match
*******
Opportunities, they were something that did not come around every so often. Men and woman could go their entire careers within this company and never get that golden opportunity, that one chance to test themselves, that one chance at make or break, that’s why tonight was so important to so many wrestlers within this company, because a chance like none other was being laid out before them, a chance to become something more. All they had to do was out last everyone else, climb that ladder and take the one thing that can give them all they want, it was truly all that simple. Climb a ladder and take a briefcase.
Chad Gable, one half of American Alpha would make his appearance on the main stage. He like his tag team partner has only just returned to this company and it seems as if he was not going to let a chance like this slip him by. His theme music would blast out of the sound speakers and in mere moments Chad Gable would run out onto the stage to a nice reception from the people gathered tonight. They would stand up and cheer for him as he holds the small towel with his name upon it. He remained still on the main stage, letting it all sink in for a moment as with little effort he would lean back and throw the towel forward as it would land in the crowd as he would take a step or two back and then dash forward as he sprints to the ring, reaching it in no time at all as he would slide in and quickly stand up.
CHAD GABLE
Tonight, is a night that I will prove myself. Tonight’s match, size does not matter. It matters not how tall you are or how strong you are. It matters not the shape you are or how small you are, the only thing that matters about tonight is how good you are. Tonight, is about seeing who out of all of us who will enter this historic match has it in them to last. Tonight, is about not only skill and talent, but it is all about endurance. There is a line back there of men and woman who want this. Some of them more than others. I had to walk by them all on my way to the ring and I saw it in their eyes, each and every single one of them are hungry for this. Each and every single one of them want this, but there is no one in this company right now who wants this more than I do.
He would lower the microphone down as he gathers his thoughts. His entire career he has been told he was too small, that he was not good enough to be here, that he would never amount to anything here, but now here he was, at money In the Bank and as he titled his head backwards and looked up, his destiny was above him, all he had to do was reach out and take it.
CHAD GABLE
This is all I have ever wanted. This is all that I have ever needed. This chance that has been given to me. This one and only chance to test myself, to see if I am as good as I know I am. I saw the line back there with my own eyes, I have seen the men and woman who I have to compete against tonight, some are better than others, but all of them, each and every single one of them want the same thing. They want what is above me and they are all going to do what they can in order to take it. That’s why I am here tonight, that’s why I have come back, it is for this very moment. To see if I have what it takes to climb that ladder. To reach out and take that briefcase and to become the man I know I can be. I know that when the bell rings and all hell breaks loose in this ring, that in the end, when it comes down to it, when it is all said and done, in the end only one man will be left standing, only one man will be able to climb that ladder and reach out for that briefcase and that man is standing right before you and he is ready, able and gable for tonight.
With those words uttered, the confidence was pouring out of chad Gable. He would be ready to leave the ring now as the fans where chanting and cheering for his name and just as he was about to mover and leave the lights would quickly dim down and the music of none other than his fellow tag team partner, Jason Jordan would begin to blast out of the sound speakers.
The fans would give a mixed reaction as Jason Jordan would slowly walk out from the back and onto the main stage. He did not run out like his tag team partner did before him. He did not have a smile on his face nor did he even look excited to be here, rather he looked somewhat confused as he stood there, his arms where stretched outwards to his side as he tilted his head to the side for only a moment as he started to walk towards the ring. Jason Jordan would reach the bottom of the ramp as he slides into the ring and walks to his partner.
JASON JORDAN
Chad, Chad, Chad -- what -- what are you doing?
Jason Jordan would again slant his head at the man standing before him. It was clear to one and all who have gathered here tonight that Jason Jordan did not understand what his tag team partner was doing out here and why he had entered such a match without first talking to him about it.
JASON JORDAN
Me and you Chad, we go way back and I mean way back. We are more than just a team, we are more than just friends, me and you, we are brothers so I cannot understand why you are out here talking like this. Why are you out here entering a match such as this. You never told me about this, you never once brought this up, did you not trust me or something? Did you think I would laugh at you? Try to put you off of entering this match, because if you thought any of that Chad, then you would be wrong. I have always supported you, from day one I have always had your back. There is no one else here who has stood beside you as long as I have, you could have came to me with this, you should have trusted me Chad and that is why this right now, what I am about to say is going to be even more painful. Chad, my friend - as good as you are, you are not going to win this match tonight --
The crowd would be in shock at his words and just as quickly as he uttered them Chad Gable would look on at Jason Jordan with a confused look on his face. The fans would quickly turn on Jason Jordan booing him.
JASON JORDAN
You are not going to win Chad, because - I am going to win!
A small smile would crawl over the face of Jason Jordan, he looked around and the crowd booed him and cheered for his partner as he would shrug it off once more. Jason Jordan would step forward slightly as he would extend his hand outwards as he would place it down upon the shoulder of his friend to reassure him and calm him down.
JASON JORDAN
You know who my father is Chad. You know what he has done. The career he has had in this sport. My father casts a massive shadow over everyone here and none more so than me. You see I am not one of these other second generation superstars, you know that better than anyone. You know I have worked hard to be here. Just like you I have had more doors slammed in my face than I would care to remember. I have been mocked, laughed at and told that I don't have what it takes to be here, but I pushed through to become a WWE superstar and I did it all before I found out who my father is. Finding out that a legend is my father has made me want to have success more than anything else. Chad, you are my brother, you will always be my brother. We are American Alpha, but tonight is a night that is not about our team, tonight we are not wrestling for the tag team championships, tonight it is every man for his self and Chad, you are good, I know you are good, but when you are compared to me, come on now - we both know who the star of the tag team is?
Jason Jordan would keep his hand on the shoulder of his friend as he would look in his eyes and tell him the truth. Tonight was not about American Alpha, it was not even about Chad Gable, tonight was all about one man and only one man, Jason Jordan. Tonight was about Jason Jordan pulling himself out of his fathers shadow and showing the world that he can stand on his own two feet and that he does not always need his fathers help.
JASON JORDAN
Just like you, I saw that line back there. I saw the men and the woman who want what swings above us, all of them want it, but only one of them can have it and it is going to be me Chad, trust me on that. If I win, you win. You know that Chad, you know I would never leave you behind. When I take everyone down on my own, when I am left alone standing in the ring, when I climb that ladder, it will be as if we are both climbing the ladder and when I take that briefcase, I will not be taking it for myself, but for the two of us. Remember Chad, we are a team and I will bring you to the top with me, I would never leave you behind. Tonight is my night Chad, tonight is Jason Jordan night. As good as you are, as talented as you, I have and I always will be just that bit better than you and that little bit more that I have over you, will be enough for me to take that briefcase and bring American Alpha right to the top.
Jason Jordan would keep his hand on his friends shoulder as he would tap it several times before letting it drop down to his side. His head would slant backwards as his eyes narrow, Chad Gable would look up as well as both of the tag team partners look at the briefcase that is above them, knowing that only one of them can take it.
JASON JORDAN
Tonight, I pull myself out of my father's shadow. Tonight Jason Jordan becomes the man he was destined to be. Chad, we can work together tonight, we can take everyone down, but when it comes down to it, when it is only me and you, brother or not - stay out of my way - the briefcase - is mine.
Jason Jordan would then drop the microphone as he narrows his eyes and looks on at his partner, American Alpha would continue to function as a team, but tonight, it was everyone for themselves and Jason Jordan had made that clear...
