Nothing More Than A Training Level
It’s funny, that people hold their noses up at a man such as TJP, but bend over backwards to pay respects to a relic such as Mike Quackenbush. This is a man while talented in his own right, never once even came close to performing in a major company, while TJP on the other hand, he has been all around the world and back again and yet does he get even a shred of the respect and admiration that Mike Quackenbush gets? No. So you can understand TJP frustration that he has being looked down upon in his very first match. He has not even made his debut for this company yet and already he is being mocked, already he has been wrote off. People had picked there side and they have picked Mike Quackenbush, a man who had returned a handful of years ago due to countless injuries. Mike Quackenbush a man who got hurt pulling himself up off the couch is favoured over TJP, a man who has never once been injured, a man who has more talent in his little pinkie on his right hand than Mike Quackenbush does in his entire body.
“Even with everything that is going on. Even with everything that people are saying behind my back, I am so excited that I can barely contain myself. You know that feeling right? When you work your ass for a month. When you have to take all the overtime going. When you have to stand there and take all the abuse from customers, your staff and hell even your bolding manager, but you do it anyway because you want that extra little green at the end of the month to get that game you have been waiting a year for. While that’s how I feel right now. My stomach is twisting and turning, hell - I feel sick even at the thought of it. Coming to a new company is always a scary thing. This is a job after all and I take my job very seriously. I have waited for this moment for a long time, I have worked hard for this moment for a long time and I am going to do all I can to impress. That feeling you get, when you work for that new game and you finally get it and it was worth everything you went through, that’s the feeling that I will feel tonight. When I step into the ring with Mike Quackenbush, it will be like handing over the money. When I run circles around him and drop him like a sack of potatoes, it will be like playing the game you have waited for and beating level after level. And when I put him down for the one, two, three - it will be like getting that thousand in your game and knowing you are truly one of the best. Defeating Mike Quackenbush tonight will be like getting the full thousand in the game and if you have seen my gamerscore, then you know the result of this match is not in doubt for even a moment.”
He would smirk as he would seat in his gaming chair. Leaning back a little bit as he would close his eyes. Mike Quackenbush was a talented wrestler, a decade ago, but like the old games you played in your younger days, Mike Quackenbush has not aged well. TJP would blow out a sigh as he would lean forward, he had dozens of consoles before him as he would run his eyes over them all before he looked down at the old super nintendo. He slowly leans forward as he would look at the sames beside the old console as he would pull up Duck Hunt, one of the first games made for the console and a game that was ahead of it’s time.
“I am not going to sit here and just insult Mike Quackenbush, I am going to give him the respect that he deserves, the respect that he has earned. Take this for example, Mike Quackenbush is a lot like this game. He is retro and that is nothing to be ashamed of, rather it is something to be respected. Mike Quackenbush may not be a name many people know about, the reason being because he never made it to a main stage, but there are games out there, really good games that are the same, they never made it. They came out in limited numbers and you had to go out of your way to get them and play them and that’s what it was like for Mike Quackenbush. He never made it to the main stage and so that does not mean he was not good enough. He was good, hell i would go as far as to say that Mike Quackenbush was at one point one of the best wrestlers in the world.”
He slowly nods his head with his words. It was not like him to give respect to anyone, but in his eyes and the eyes of many around the world, Mike Quackenbush had earned the respect for the decades he had spent on the independent scene.
“He was good, better than most of the people on this roster right now. He busted his backside performing for crowds at times of only a dozen or so people. He was one of those rare wrestlers, that rare breed who never chased the spotlight. He wanted to just go out there and get into the ring and wrestle and he did that and he did it for well over a decade, but he never did have any real success. He never really made a name for himself. The only reason that I know his name is because I went to some of the shows he was at, I saw him wrestle when I was a child. Now the only reason you know who Mike Quackenbush is, is because I am talking about him, so he should thank me for that. I would have my handful right now, if I was facing the Mike Quackenbush from a decade ago, but the truth is I have nothing to be worried about. The man has not stepped into a ring in over five years. He has not been doing what I have been doing day in and day out and while I do like my games, for Mike Quackenbush this is not a game. You cannot just pick up the controller and button bash and hope for the best, not when you are facing me. Mike Quackenbush you are retro. You are from an era that is long over. Your time is at an end and like this game here in my hands, you have not aged well. These types of games are best to be remembered and that’s it, they are best to be nothing more than a memory. You see when you blow the dust of them and actually sit down and play them, you ruin any love and joy you once had for them. You see with your own eyes how badly they had aged and nothing and I mean nothing will ever get that love back. The same thing will happen for you as well Mike Quackenbush. I can count on one hand how many people in the crowd will know who you are. Those five people will have followed you for your entire career. They will be as old and broken down as you are, but to them you are there hero. So imagine there faces, when they see an over forty, way past his prime relic stumble out from the back and get into the ring with a man who is two decades younger and not even hitting his prime yet. Imagine the look on there faces when you blow up and run out of gas one minute into this match. You are not the booker of this promotion my friend, there is no smoke and mirrors for you when you are in the ring with me. I want you to know that you are breaking the heart of your only five fans and you will only have yourself to blame for that!”
He looks down at the game in his hand, it was like Mike Quackenbush, it was from a time that should be forgotten, a time that was not worthy remembering. Back in that day, it was a good game, but today the standards have risen and it has no value and the same can be said for Mike Quackenbush. TJP would roll his eyes as he would toss the game to the side as he sits back down.
“I am the present and the future of this company. There is no one better than me here. There is no one who even comes close to me here. Gather them all up and put them in the ring with me at once, crank this up to insane mode and I will still blast through it with ease, I am just that damn good. Mike Quackenbush - hell he is not even easy mode for someone like me, is is the training level at best. This match is not even a match. This company is a game to me, like everything in life for me and I always play to win, You think I am going to fail right at the start? You think someone like Mike Quackenbush, a weak low levelled enemy is going to beat me? You must be joking if you think that. Mike Quackenbush is many things, but one thing he is not, is better than me. This match is mine for the taking. This victory is mine. This training level is exactly just that, a training level and nothing more. I am going to breeze by this with no problem and I am going to go onto bigger and better things and for Mike Quackenbush, his comeback will end after one match. He will learn a lesson that not many learn in our sport, that those who have returned, need to stay retired. I will do Mike Quackenbush a favour and ensure he keeps to his promise first time around as I end him once and for all.”
TJP would allow a chuckle to escape him as he would run down Mike Quackenbush, but everything he had said was the truth. Mike Quackenbush was not on his level. Mike Quackenbush did not even come close. TJP was younger, faster and better than Mike Quackenbush. There was only going to be one winner of this contest and ladies and gentlemen, you are looking at him -- TJP.
