It was a beauiful night within Gotham city, the moon raised high within the blackness of the sky, not a soul was seen out on the streets. A soft smile spread over her red painted smudged lips as she tilted her head, her bar pressing against her right shoulder. Everything was just the same way that she had left it before the batman had taken her away from her Joker.
It had been a whole week since her puddin had come and gotten her out of her cage and brought her back home, to where the Bat was no where to be seen. Harley had spent most of the night causing trouble for anyone that came across her path. Finally she had enough and returned to the night club that was owned by her puddin. She had a few drinks and then got into her usual box and danced most of the night away.
Coming out of the box she grabbed her bat from behind the bar where she had left it blood on her bat as she went upstairs to the beautiful appartment she had lived with her puddin. She smiled and held her back behind her back. "Puddin? Ya here mistah J?" she called from the front door.

The world was changing and nothing would ever be the same again. Men and woman where astounding power where claiming cities as their own and defending them. Every major city now had a defender, but he did not care about any other city, he only cared about his city, he only cared about Gotham City. He had reached the top, leaving countless amounts of bodies at his feet as he ascended right to the top to no longer be the prince, but to now be the king and every king needed a queen.
"Harley......"
It was only a mutter, but he knew she heard it as he stood before the massive window as his head pressed against it as he just looked down at the streets of Gotham City, his streets. It was all his, well almost all his. His purple gloved hand was also pressed against the glass as he could feel Gotham City, slipping through his fingers. Ever since she was taken from him, everything stopped. He was not the same as before. The control of the streets, the payments, the deals and the whole under world of Gotham City came crashing to a halt as he turned his attention back to getting his queen back.
No one questioned his means, no one dared tell him that everything he was doing, bringing so much attention on not only himself, but everyone who worked for him was dangerous, but he did what he wanted to do. The money, the resources, the men, so much of it was thrown away all to get his queen back, even Frost, his most trusted man, died following his commands. Pretenders had moved in now, The Bat was gone from Gotham City and so was he, as he hunted down his queen, streets, business and men have been snatched away from him, they laugh behind him, because he risked it all for one person, a woman.
"Tell me my dear...do you miss your friends..."
She had no entered the room, she has not seen what he had done to it. The apartment she wanted, the home she desired, he gave it to her, the one place where they could be alone and he has destroyed it. Everything smashed to pieces, from the piano to the private bar all destroyed. The ground was littered with knives and guns and all sorts of his toys, all lying there, leading right to him.
========
Harley knew that the Joker had given up a lot in order to come and find her, she would never be able to tell him how much that meant to her, how she was thankful to be back with her king of crime. Harley slowly walked inside the apartment that mostly he had gotten for her, a place she had loved and a place where they could just be alone together for once without people coming between them. Even as she walked into the home they had built together, something was different, he was different and all she wanted was her puddin back again, that was all that Harley ever wanted. To be with the man she loves. What else could a person want.
"Puddin?..What's going on?"
She asked as she slowly moved through the hallway and into the main room. Her eyes looked around the room and taking in everything within it. She had hoped that he would have taken care of their home with her being gone, ripped away from his warm embrace and yet what she saw in their home almost brought tears to her eyes. The piano was completely smashed to pieces, the floor was covered in weapons, knives, guns and all different toys he could use as torture on anyone he thought deserved it. Finally her eyes found her Joker with his head pressing against the large glass window. Hearing his question, she slowly made her way towards him.
"No..All I wanted was to be here with ma puddin..Are you mad at me?"
Harley asked as she looked up as him, she didn't want a slap in the face for asking such questions, she knew his temper better than anyone did, she didn't know what to do, she had missed him, she wanted that smile to come and for him to be the man she fell for again. Softly she wrapped her arms around his waist and let her hands softly press against his chest. She could feel something was different within him and she didn't like it.
"Didn't ya miss me puddin?"
========
Of course he had missed her, a small grunt passes through his lips at her remarks. He had not just attempted to break her free once, he had done it twice at a great price as well. Frost was dead, it still plagued his mind, he never liked him, he never cared for him, he was a tool, but a good tool that kept everything running and ensured the money kept flowing towards the king and queen and now he was gone and there was a massive position that needed to be filled, but unfortunately all his most trusted men died in the helicopter crash, a crash that he was lucky to get out of alive, at a great cost to his face.
"Of course...."
He wanted to say more, but he couldn't, the words just would not escape his lips. He did all of this for her, everything he did since he lost her was to get her back and now Gotham City, his city, THERE CITY, was being taken from them and there was nothing he could do but watch from the highest tower in Gotham. The Bat was gone and it would be the perfect time to stretch out with his hands and take the last pieces to own everything, but that was no possible. He kept his head leaned against the glass, his eyes glanced down to the city below, but in the reflection would could see there was no smile, no joy, only anger. The top right of his face, it was still badly burnt from the crash, a few strings of his slicked back hair may be covering it, but you could still see the damage.
"But you didn't answer my question....do you miss your friends? After all you went straight to them....instead of coming to get me..."
Everyone else had died in the crash, Frost and the pilots were killed almost right away when the rocket struck them, his other men and even the professor died when they hit the building, but he did not. He was stronger than them all, only weak men die pointless deaths and he was not ready to die that day. He had thrown Harley to safety and he was left to crawl out of the wreckage, to look at his face in the puddles and see that it was even more damaged than before. Batman may have knocked out all his teeth and beaten his face to a pulp, but getting Harley back had cost him scars, ones that will not be so easily covered up with tattoos.
========
Harley could remember everything that she had felt in those few moment she had gotten with him, how she had climbed up the rope to be reunited with him, to finally feel his arms atrong and protectively around her slender body, only for the plane to be shot down with her being pushed out, she knew that he was only trying to save her to protect her from any harm coming to her, but she had to watch as the plane crashed and her heart felt like it had been ripped from her chest, she thought that the only man she had ever loved had died that she would be all alone and that was something she couldn't handle. He was right, she had gone back to her friends, because she didn't want to be alone. Harley shook her head at the painful memory and the hours that she had thought him dead.
"How dare you..You don't know what that did!"
She told him as she pulled him around so that he would have to face her, no more would he be allowed to look out at the city that she had cost him, he would face her after all what was he saying? She had picked her friends over the love of her life? That wasn't how it was and if anyone was to know that it should have been him.
"I didn't pick them over you..I thought you died and It was my fault! I couldn't go look because I was scared you were gone forever and I couldn't live with that pain."
She told him as she hit her chest, like she could show him the heart break that crash had caused her. Harley shook her head as she wiped her eyes refussing to allow him to see the tears that wanted to roll down her face. She wished that she had gone after him, she wished that she could have been there to care and protect him instead now he was burned and that was her it was all because he had risked everything in order to get back his queen.
========
"How Dare I? How Dare I? How Dare I!"
He would step back from her as he turns around, his purple gloved hand balls up into a fist as he strikes the window, hitting it as hard as he could there would be a shatter, and then again another strike, his glove cut right open as he pulls his hand back once more as he strikes again and this time the massive panel of glass shatters, some falling before their feet, the rest falling to the streets below, a nasty treat for anyone walking by.
"You went back to someone else didn't you? Another man?"
He would grab the back of her head with his cut hand as he pulls her towards her, pushing her head out the broken window, her whole body tilting over the edge as he forces her head to bend down and look at the streets below. He jealously was something to be feared, he had shot a man in the head for calling her a bitch. She was his and only his. He had at first thought of her as merely a tool. That she was his property, but as time went on it was more than that and the feelings, the feelings he thought that got washed away a long time ago caused him to be afraid, afraid that he had someone he cared about, someone he would do anything for and it was a feeling that at some times he did not enjoy.
"That pretty little boy with the gun...hmmmmm...the man who never misses a shot....he missed you....why?"
He tightens his grip on her, not hurting her, not wanting to leave marks, but enough to keep her on the edge was the wind batters both of their bodies. He wanted to scare her, to show her that he was not happy with everything that happened and this was the only he could show her that she has hurt him and he was not happy with the pain she caused him.
========
She couldn't believe that he of all people would think that she would rather be with anyone than with him, he meant everything to her if it wasn't for him she wouldn't be the person that she was to this very day, she loved him completely with every part of her body and heart. When she looked into the future all she could see was him and being with him was all that Harley had ever wanted that was why she had helped him escape Arkham in the first place when she worked there as a doctor. Seeing his hand go through the glass window, she knew that she had upset him and when that happened she didn't want to be anywhere near him, it was usually her that got to brunt of his pain but she knew this time she had caused this to happen.
"Stop it! Your going to do something you regret!"
She said as he grabbed her by her hair and pulled her over to the window, bending her over and pushing her head out of the window, she screamed, she knew all to well that if he wasn't holding her head then she would have went right out of the window. He wasn't hurting her like she expected him to, he was hurt and jealous of Deadshot because he was the one man that never missed a target and he had when it came to shooting her. She knew that the jealously he felt about her was something to be completely feared he would kill anyone that showed even the slight direspect or attraction to her.
"Please puddin...It wasn't like that please your scaring me! I only love you, I only ever loved you baby please...Let me up let me UP!"
She screamed. She didn't want him to feel this kind of pain, even as she could fall to her death all she wanted was to take away his pain, she would never have gone back to the sqaud if she had known there was even a chance that he had survived she would have rather die than make him feel this kind of pain. She held onto the edge of the window, and her other holding onto the peice of his shirt that she could reach.
