She clamped her hands over her ears as the sorrow filled howl echoed through the halls. It went straight through her, it wasn't enough to simply cut out the sound, she could feel the vibrations bouncing off the walls coursing through her and causing her spine to shiver. Slowly she lowered her shaking hands, not wanting to frighten the beast into attacking. Come on think, she told herself, it wasn't a jackal before... it was something else. "What are you?" She asked.
You weren't the average size of a normal Jackal but bigger, your fur was matted and coloured in a midnight black just like your eyes that were of two great empty abysses that had swallowed up all the light in the room, supported on a small but agile frame of the Jackal.
She hadn't expected an answer from you, but a low whine escaped through your now elongated jaw. She ran her hand through her hair, trying to think, trying to make sense of what had just happened. She looked around, her torch shinning light on a tall and haunting figure painted to the wall behind the jackal. "Anubis..." She looked back at the Jackal. "You're not... don't tell me..."
She swallowed, tentatively reaching out her hand towards you. Her hand trembled. She could feel the hot breath escape your muzzle, she could see the razor sharp teeth glisten eerily in the torch light and your tail grow still.

She was afraid he could sense it, she covers her ears, not wanting to listen to the sorrow filled howl, yet in her eyes she was curious, she wanted to know what this was, it was lightly bigger than an ordinary jackal, but not by that much, she would stutter for a moment and then ask what this beast was, she shivered as she did as the beast holds its ground, not moving, rather just standing perfectly still, the golden bracelet lies at her feet, as the Jackal would lower its head and look at it, that's what caused this, that's what made it what it is now.
As the jackal looked down she looked around, at the walls as she asked the jackal once more what it was, was it the god, this idol that this tome holds in such high regards, the answer is yes and no. The jackal is not the god, but now rather a servant, for breaking into the tome and stealing the treasure it was punished and now she was going to have to suffer the same fate as he, there was no escaping it, she had to pay the price of entering the tome, there was no other way, it would not allow her to leave as she is now, she has seen too much, touched too much.
The jackal would lower its head and step forward, removing itself from all the shredded clothing, its jaw opening and then closing at it takes the bracelet in its jaws and then drops it right into her hands, she had to put it on, she had to become what she was, a thief, a desert scrounger, a scavenger, a jackal.

She hardly noticed the piece of gold at her feet until you put it in her outstretched hand. She viably flinched from the sudden touch of warm metal against the palm of her hand. She looked down at it. It was engraved with similar designs to those dancing on the walls around them. It was beautiful. She looked at you, understanding only that you wanted her to have it. She carefully slipped it onto her wrist. It felt familiar in an odd way but it also made her skin crawl as though something unseen scattered across her exposed skin.
She went to stand up but fell back in pain almost immediately, clutching her sides. It all happened so suddenly that she gasped in fright. Her body was burning as though something was tearing her apart from the inside. It spiralled through her veins and down her right arm. As soon as it got close to the bracelet, hairs stared sprouting out all over her arm. Bursting through her skin; thick and black, the long hairs engulfed her hand, causing the bracelet dangling around her wrist to disappear within the tangled mess. She tried to pull it off in her panic, grasping at the hair and ripping them out but more kept coming. Her fingers made an awful crunching sound as they shrunk, heavy grey nails replacing her once normal and human fingernails. She shrieked in fear and panic, crawling back away from the jackal. Somehow this was his fault and now she cursed her own stupidity for taking the bracelet and not being cautious; it's not like every day a jackal decides to be friendly with humans.
The Jackal... her mind went oddly numb as she stared at the creature in front of her until realization hit her like a ton of bricks. Without knowing why or how, she was running. The pain was unbearable. Every movement strained her tight muscles, every step made her bones creak and crunch under the impact. She gripped onto the wall for support, her body trembling before she fell face first into the ground. Only then did she notice how few precious seconds had much such a dramatic change in her body. Her arms were covered in the dark fur, her spine was aching and was it just her imagination or was it growing longer. She glanced back only to see a tail flickering behind her. She screamed but it was cut short as pain so intense ripped through her head. She gripped her head with her still transforming and furry hands. Her jaw was stretching, elongating outwards. Just what the hell was happening?

Was this what he wanted to happen, did he really want her to suffer the same fate as he, he was greedy he only cared about himself, he never fought of others, but she was different. He came here for the treasure, he did not care if he disrespected the dead, they were dead, what was there was up for grabs and he was going to take as much as possible, she on the other hand, she was only here to study to learn more, he had done this to her, this was his fault, the curse was his and his alone, it was not her's to carry as well. He knew that as soon as the golden bracelet went on her wrist she would be like him.
He had hoped it would not have been painful for her, but he was wrong, just like with him it hurt, bones cracking, body changing, everything that you once where stripped down until you where nothing like your former self, that was what was happening and it was painful to watch. He just watches her, his head slanting upwards and then downwards as he watches her fall holding onto herself as the fur bursts out of her body, his head lowering as he lets out a small whine as he backs away from her.
He followed her, as she tried to run, much like what he did escape was impossible there was no running away from this, this was her fate now the only way she would leave this tomb would be on all fours much like him, that was the prize to pay for entering this cursed place. he paced up behind her as she fell down once more her changes where getting more drastic, more noticeable, her clothing was confining her and to assist her he opened his jaw and started to tear of her clothing, ripping of her trousers, her shirt, her shoes and socks tore on their own, she did not need these, they would only remind her of what she once way, they would mock her, taunt her, in his mind he did her a favour my doing this, she would only feel pain being trapped within them.
