Was it all just fate, just one big dish of randomness? That no one else has ever come this close to finding this place, and yet here they are, they have found what people have only dreamed off. People have searched there entire life's for this place and they have found it. Yet they stand there in the entrance, there is sign that this place has seen the footsteps off others, but where are they now, what happened to them, they is of course only one way you can answer that question.
"Ladies first
.."
Simple, let the woman take the lead. He merely takes several steps backwards. People have been here before that much is clear, maybe even recently, but what happened to them, well there is only one way they are going to find out, and it begins when the young woman takes her first steps into this wondrous place they have uncovered.

He merely watches as she enters before him, did he feel a little bit guilty for letting her go first? Maybe, but after all, she was the expert; he was only along to get anything that was worth value. This was a discovery of a life time and he loved each and every moment of it. As she walks in he follows her from behind. It was dark, no word of a lie, and so he takes out two torches and hands one to her. The way was no visible and they went deeper inwards. He shines his light onto the wall and spots old nearly worn down flame torches, he takes out his lighter and lights them up, and just like magic not only the one he lit bursts into flames, each and everyone around them bursts into the flames, the room they are in is bursting with light and the countless hallways are now visible for them to travel.
"You don't have to rush and thank me now." He says jokingly. His eyes travel to the walls; different images are all around them. His eyes light up as he quickly spots symbols of treasure and untold riches. This is what he wanted; this was what he was interested. "Now we are getting somewhere, this place has to be loaded; we got so lucky with this one, finally a payoff that we deserve".
People did not like what they did, they called them scavengers. But did he care? No! It was his job, it got him money, he had to find these places first, get the valuables and get out of there and sell them to the highest bidder. It was what he was good at and what he enjoyed. Looking at the wall he spots an image of people stealing the gold, the next sequences of images shows the thieves taking the gold, the gods looking down displeased, then it shows the thieves acting weird, almost like they are mutating. He blinks as he backs away, the last images have been scratched out, deep claw markings in the wall he was viewing make it impossible to view, but how was that possible, why would it be scratched out, why would an animal be down here to do such a thing.

"Magnifique." She whispered.
French was not her first language but she could not help but mutter it upon realizing just what it was that they were standing on. She smiled widely, her eyes alight with the reflection of the entrance to the tombs shimmering in her eyes. This was what she lived for. At your words her mouth broke into the biggest grin she could master. Of course she would go in first, how could she hold back? Without wasting time she moved, savoring every step she took over the disappearing sand, kicked up by the wind and dancing through the sky.
Her fingers traced over the inscriptions over the wall, barely paying attention to the ground she walked on as the darkness was so deep now that it became near impossible to see. She stopped suddenly, accepting the torch he offered her. For a brief moment she flashed it across his face. She knew very well why you were allowing her to lead. She knew what she was doing, however... what you wanted was the prize at the end. She couldn't help but think that there may be nothing of value awaiting them at the end. Grave Robbers were all too common. A treasure hunter and an archaeologist, both scavengers of the Ancient World. An odd partnership, but one that worked well. It was for the love of history that spurred her on through the enveloping darkness. The torch did little to give her a good enough idea of what was around her. There were too many inscriptions and not enough patience to sit and read through them. She saw Anubis, the head of the jackal looking more malevolent then she had ever seen him. A trickle of fear seeped through her skin but she kept moving, feeling rather than seeing that you were still trailing behind her.
She smiled as you filled the silent halls with your words. You were as obsessed about treasure, as she was about history. "Even if it's not loaded... the walls alone with fetch millions." She chuckled. "All we need is a crane. Know anyone who can lend us one?"
Her torch light moved across the walls. She could read warnings all around her. It was starting to become unnerving. It wasn't until your light stopped on the claw marks did she stop dead. She hurried towards them. "What on earth..." Her fingers traveled along the marks. They were large, deep claw marks tearing across what was supposed to be the end picture-graph. She squinted, trying to make out what was so furiously torn at. "It... it looks like there were multiple animals... There's different types of claw marks. Might have been dogs. What do you think?"
She stood back, staring at the desecration as a sudden thought dawned on her. "Come on, someone might have beaten us to the antechamber. It contains most of the priceless items... if it's not there..." She left the sentence hanging. She didn't want to think of what they might do if grave robbers had beaten them to treasure or the tomb...

Was he scared of what he seen? Of course he was, it made no sense, how could something make marks like that, it looked like it was panic, fear, but he could not let his mind dwell on this any longer, he had to get moving, there was still so much to do here, so much that needed to be done. They where in, that was the hard part, now they could look around. "You are the expert; you care to lead the way?"
A small smirk runs across his lips, he knew you would jump at the chance to take the lead, after all he found the light, he found the images on the walls, the markings, now it was her turn, he was done right now, he wanted you take the lead, to find the hidden treasures, he wanted untold reaches, he wanted something that the gods gifted the old people and what mans eyes have not seen in thousands on years, there had to be something down here that was valuable enough to be locked away.
They moved forward like a good team, this place was old, really old, it seems that time has not been to kind to this place. His eyes are wide open as he looks around, knowing that the traps will most likely be destroyed by the effects of time. He would suddenly stop in his tracks, coming to two hallways, he looks down the right and then down the left as he signs and rubs the back of his head, he had a feeling luck would be against them this time around.
"Well then, you go right and I go left, this place does not seem to be all that big, but we cannot afford to waste a lot of time, we will meet back right here in one hour." He smirks lightly knowing that you will be all for this, breaking up and covering more ground, he knows that you love all of this sort of thing, that you adore all of this and having time by yourself to look at this place and hopefully fine something worth taking and selling.
He moves forward taking the first steps down his hallway, his head turning as he looks on at you, a sly wink as he smirks, "Don't get over excited now, just stick to the plan, I want out of this place, it is freaking me out
.."

There was no pause as she took the lead. She wanted to get the antechamber and fast. She cared little for the claw marks now, that was not her concern. She wanted to untold relics hidden in this ancient place, untouched by time... The mysteries... the secret passage ways and levers... oh the Ancient Egyptians were smart... they planned to send thevies such as them through a maze of corridors and dead ends, but she was smart... she'd been to Giza, seen Tutankamen's tomb, it was all a matter on how you read your surroundings. The air would become dense, the corridors would stop splitting up at one point and that would mean that they were on the right track, but a t-intersection of corridors stopped her in her tracks.
She almost cursed at their bad luck. Two corridors, one to her right, the other the left. They both looked the same in width and height. She bit her lip. Spliting up would save time... and yet they were in an unknown place. Who knew what was waiting for them in the deepest and darkests places of this tomb. Instead of becoming fearful, her lips split into a grin and she giggled. "Hehe, this is exciting."
She watched you head through the left corridor, smiling to herself as your sly little smirk. "Yeah right," She muttered heading down the right corridor, "like I'm gonna rush."
Her corridor was a long one. The pictures on the walls made little sense to her. It was not at all like what she was accustomed to. There were very few humans, yet there would always be a jackal, a cat, a hawk, and all those animals that the Egyptian Gods wore as masks that they were most famous for. Anubis was so frequently depicted that she suspected that this might be a burial chamber for multiple pharoahs... but the idea was absurd, this would have been reserved for one pharoah only. She stopped and drew her torch closer to the wall. She read a few of the passages. They were the usual, speaking about the afterlife and the great serpent that devoured one's soul. It went on to Maát the feather of truth, weighed against the heart of the Pharoah. "Hang on... these are going backwards..."
She started backing up then raced down the corridor. The air was getting thicker. This had to be the right way. Her feet wouldn't stop, her excitment was past breaking point. She wanted to see if she was right before she ran back to get you. She wanted to know more than anything else, more than her desire to come back and get you. It would waste time. She had to know... she just had to.
