I don't know how fast I ran, but I knew a lot about these kind of things, from stories to simple folklore. I knew what I was becoming, a wolf. I knew what had caused it, that one bite from that wolf and I know what is triggering it, the moonlight hitting my body, this would cause me to keep within the darkness. Staying out of it's rays, I will not fall to it, I will now bow to it, I will not let it take control of me, I wont become one of those creatures.

"Why am I always getting myself into shit!" I would mumble as I frankly run my hands throughout my hair, stressed out as I would take a break.

Leaning over, resting my back against a tree, I would place my hands on my knees and try to catch my breathe, panting heavily, my crystal eyes widen as I would spot my hands, my eyes narrow as I can see that my hands are shifting and changing into what can only be simply described as the front paws of a common animal. I would look at them and slump down the tree, sitting down and just remaining still, pulling my feet into the darkness so that the moons rays will not hit my body.

"I wonder what else has changed…" I say in a low tine, scared to even check myself over, who knows what else has changed.

I would hear the constant howls echoing out. Something in me wants to join them, but it is interrupted by an odd burning sensation. I would look down at my body, especially my arms as I would watch as white fur would spread over it and I can only wonder if it has changed my wonderful black hair to a snow white.

I would push myself up as and start to run again as fast as my tired beaten legs would carry me, sliding to a halt I would spot her, just casually sitting their upon the hood of my car, shacking I would stand there, not stepping into the light as I don't want anymore changes to affect my body.

"You, what on earth are you doing here!" I would saw as I would raise my arm and point my finger directly at her.

She smiled, you may be changing but you didn't know how to use even half of your abilities yet. This was easy, this was simple, this was what she was built for. Leaning forward she said.

"Don't you remember being inseperable for the last few months? Don't you remember that I always had ways of finding you even in the dark?" The smile shifted and she began looking serious. "I can't let you run off and expose us... it'll be fine after the transformation because you'll understand but right now you could kill yourself in a car accident when your hands turn into paws or when you get so angry that you attack someone else. You don't know how to control it. People could die... including you."

She jumped off the roof and stood proudly and defiant in front of you, her wolfish characteristics showing through her strong demeanor and terrifyingly inhuman beauty as a cloud parted the moons rays fell down upon her. "We're not common dogs. We don't attack people. I wanted you to come with me... i didn't want you to act like this." Tears built up in her eyes but she controlled them by shaking her head lightly and looking determined. "I'm not letting you leave here tonight. When dawn comes and I know you won't hurt anyone I won't object but you can't just run off without thinking. You have to know what a danger you pose to everyone."

Her words echoed around them, falling into silence. She was truly proud and was not afraid to show it. You didn't understand... she could find only one person in all her years that she had wandered the earth and the moment she thinks she found them... this happens. It was too much to expect, she thought sadly. I was warned by the others but I had hoped through it all that they were wrong... what a foolish little pup I've been.

I stand there and look upon her, shacking lightly in fear from everything I have heard come out of her mouth, the sad thing about all of this was that it was true, when I look back upon everything she has said it all suddenly makes sense, I would take a step back, stumbling over a branch and falling to a thud on the ground, my heart racing a mile a minute as it was not crunch time.

"You lied to me……." It is all that I can say right now to her, still mad over what has happened and transpired this night.

I push what remains of my hands into the soft ground behind me as I try to get up and then suddenly I would give a short whimper. I would slowly look down my body to try and find the reason that I cannot get up anymore. My shoes and socks hanging loosely off me as my feet grow thinner, ankles cracking and growing upwards, sliming down as the whitish greyish fur would spread over them. I would move, my feet coming out of my shoes and my socks in a simple movement and to my shock all that remains of them is nothing more than paws, simplistic.

"This cannot be happening, things like this are only a myth…….right? My eyes cross over with your own as I can see the tears swirling up and it causes me to look away from you.

Looking away from you and back down to my arms I get to see them grow thinner, pulling inwards, I would quickly with all my might push myself up onto my new paws, standing there I turn my head and go to move, but sudden sharp pain in my legs sends me forward, falling out of the darkness and hitting the ground face first, the full moons rays covering my body completely. My thighs would start to pull close into my body snapping and cracking, the bones shifting as I close my eyes in the pain of all of this, and when I reopen and look up at her I know that walking on two legs has forever left me.

"Awwwww……….fuck……..this ……….hurts! Is all that I can mutter, knowing now my fate is quickly approaching.

I would move what is left of my hands in front of me to push myself up, my back now starting to ach along with my lower spine, I look myself over and all I see is a set of forelegs and forepaws, I am quadruped now, and there is no going back from this crossing point.

She rolled her eyes. "Yeah cause the truth is doing you so much good." She jumped down. "This isn't a dream you can wake up from. I didn't chose you because of some luck. Calm down and think. Think about what it means to live forever... would it really be so bad?"

She walked over to you and knelt down in front of you. Her eyes shimmered and glowed in the darkness. She was showing something uncommon in humans, a compassion that allowed her not to shy away from something inhuman... something she went through herself and knew all too well how it felt.

"Myths are born from legends... and legends and born from truths. You can't expect them to get it right all the time. They never say why someone would hear the call of the night and embrace it, they never explain why a werewolf would bite another. No, we're all seen as horrible beasts that go mad under the moonlight... but that is not true. We grow stronger, more beautiful, and we can see this world change and yet not be changed by it. The werewolves curse... is not a curse... it's a gift given only to a few. Call it fate, call it chance, but you have a choice to make this something amazing or something out of a nightmare." Once more the pride of the wolves showed through her like a bright light but the only thing that was glowing was her eyes and the moon above. She reached out and touched your hand which was now a large paw with curved claws moving out steadily as the pads rubbed roughly against her hand.

The fur erupting all over your skin was forcing itself out like pins pulling through your flesh and ripping through the skin. The good news was that it would not last long, the bad news was that the amount of hair on the body of a wolf was incalculable. It would feel as though your body is tearing itself apart from the inside out. The bones changing was the easy part.

"I know it hurts..." She said softly. "I could bite you again and make the transformation a lot quicker... but I don't feel safe doing it since you have lost so much blood already."

Your ears would feel like someone is pulling on them as they grew outwards and formed into a point, setting another course of transformations in its wake. Your eyes darkened, grew larger and more almond shaped as your skin, that was not already covered by the fur began to turn a bluish gray. It hollowed out your appearance, making the bones shifting on your face sharper and more painfully obvious. Your jaw was the first to start changing and morphing as your body tried to keep up with the transformation and began tugging on your spinal cord.
