It was more painful than anything in the world, your reaction was something she wished she'd never have to experience again. She could transform a million times over and still not feel as hurt as she did when she saw your reaction to her. She knew very well that you had no idea that it was her within the thick coat of silver and wood brown fur, the yellow eyes staring up at you were not those you were accustomed to. But she was still there. Fighting the desire to attack and get the bite over with, with her other desire not to harm you.

The wolf whimpered at your words, her ears falling back. Surely you would not hurt her, she may have howled and she may very well be a wolf but she had not advanced on you, she merely stood and viewed your reaction through eyes that no longer looked human enough for you to see past the fear. Knowing that doing nothing would merely delay the inevitable, she started forward, crouching low to the ground and tensing. She shot off to the side, dodging the wooden stick you held and completely missing you altogether as she disappeared within the darkness of the deep haunting woods. She was giving you your chance to get away. Only the chance was merely a state of relief she wanted to instill upon you. Biting you while you were in such a state of blind fear would be foolish for her... you'd keep fighting past the pain... but taking you unaware would hopefully keep you down long enough for you to feel that death was approaching and not to go against it at all. In truth it wasn't really death... but something more.

She rallied her hopes on that idea so much so that when you started heading back to the car, she raced out towards you without so much as making a whisper in the wind. She slid in front of you over the fallen leaves but before you could do anything more than cry out, she jumped, her teeth sinking into you neck as she tackled you to the ground.

Blood filled her jaw, dripping out from her mouth and staining her teeth as she lifted her head. A howl ripped through her vocal cords as the blood dripped down her muzzle and turned her gray hair red. A howl so bone chilling and wild that the woods shrunk away from her and the wind would not touch her.

My heart would literally dip as I am washed over with panic; I waste no time at all as the wolf would crouch down, my pathetic weapon raised up in a hostile position, ready to defend myself. My life is on the line and I will not go down so easily, I want to go out fighting, I want to at least try to get out of here alive. My girlfriend is gone and I am shacking, I am so worried about her, for all I know she is out there hurt, and here I am, standing here doing nothing for her.

The wolf shot of to the side, I swing at it but alas I miss, to quick for me, my eyes would trail it as it would dash of into the woods, leaving me once again all alone in the forest, my heart beats a mile a minute, there is no time, it is to dangerous to stay here any longer, my feet move on there own as I spin around and make a dash for it, where am I running exactly, my basic survival instincts kick in as I run for the car, it is the safest place and my phone is there, I can call for help, I can still find her, I can still show her that I am here for her and that I will not leave until I find where she went off to.

I run as fast as my legs would carry me, but then it would happen, out of no where it would happen to me. The wolf slid before me, my emerald eyes widening as it would pounce, its full weight coming crashing down onto me, its forepaws and hind paws shredding my flesh open as its teeth would sink deep into my bare flesh of my neck.

The blood streams from my neck, standing my clothing. For several seconds I kick and I frail, my hands go to reach for you but alas they slump into the dirt, my mouth open, gasping for air once again as the blood pours out of me.

I hear her howl as she stands on my body, keeping me pinning, her teeth removed from my deep wound, my emerald eyes watery with the pain as I close them, reopening them everything has become so faint, my vision blurry as my skin goes pale, the coldness taking its hold onto me, my right hand moving, sliding into my pocket as I would clutch onto a small bracelet within.

Removing it from my pocket it rests in my hand, the first gift she ever gave me and I never wore it in front of her, I hold onto her gift tightly, I can sense that my life is over, my body is in so much pain, my wound is to deep to be healed, and I have lost to much blood, my bones have been broken, shattered beyond repair. My eyes stare over at the wolf that has killed me, that has ended my life, the blood staining my face as I watch it howl in victory of its kill. Holding onto the small bracelet I would simply smirk, knowing that at least for a few months I was happy.

The wolf shifted. It's body shimmering in the moonlight, a shade of silver silhouetted against the night. The form distorted, the wolf's body growing slender, loosing the shaggy hair and stretching until the youthful face of a girl hovered before you. "Hey," She said softly. "You still with me?"

Gently she touched your neck, realizing that she had bitten you too viciously. Staying so long in her human body limited her control over her wild form. She laid down on your chest listening to your heart as she said. "Just a little longer... you'll be ok. Just... don't fight it."

She looked back up at you, moving her hands to your neck and pressing down on the wound. She didn't want to hurt you but your heart beat was faint and you needed time to change. If she did nothing, time wouldn't mean anything and bringing you here would only result in your death.... something she was not willing to do to you. Her eyes glowed, smelling in the delicious scent of blood. It seeped through her fingers and stained her skin. When the clouds shifted and flashed over her face, blood too was smeared over her chin. She glanced at your face, her eyes no longer glowing, staring into your green and hoping that you were fighting to stay alive like she was fighting against her desire to drink up your spilt blood.

You were so cold and she was so warm, keeping her body weight on your chest but letting the cold bite and sting at the rest of your body. She knew it would slow down your blood flow and increase your chances of survival. It was going to be a long night...

I am the foolish one with the smile, my eyes staring up at the moonlight, as I gasp for air. Then something I did not expect, she would stand over me, my eyes widening as she would ask if I am alright, I believe it is quite clear from the amount of blood flowing out of me that I am not. I would fight this, I don't want to die so young, I want to fight this, I can feel the coldness encasing me, I am not ready for this.

"I….can….see…..what…my surprise was."

In this situation it is always good to make light of it, I now see what I was going to get, now I know why there cloths where shredded on the ground when I ran from the wolf, you ran off naked into the woods and I fled like a coward leaving you all alone worried and most likely afraid.

I feel your hands pressing down onto my neck, covering up the deep wound, the blood staining your fingers and your flesh, my green eyes lining up with your own as my heart grows fainter and fainter, so cold so very cold.

Maybe it was a mistake to come here, perhaps it was not one of my brightest ideas, my eyes would still lock onto your own, but in the back of my mind I wonder where the wolf has run off to, if I am to protect you I am to fight this, I am to stay alive long enough until help comes and gets you out of here safely.

"Don't lie to me…..look at me……there is no surviving this……."

I would mutter, I am not stupid, you are only preventing the inevitable, I am not getting back up from this one, my neck is torn, my chest and my stomach are bleeding viscously, that wolf had done one hell of a number on me and the wounds are clear on my form, I am happy that you are here with me, trying in vein to help me through this, and that is why I am fighting to stay alive, every minute will be wonderful for me, as long as I can see your face one last time before I fade into the darkness.
