It's always the same; it will never change.
Propaganda flung up on the walls about God and the Angel.
"Obey, or be punished."
It made me go into solitary, into the highest point, of the highest tower; made of steel it watches over the village
I would wake up, look out the window, get dressed, and then start my day.
Alone.
Id do it all on my own, my God was never home, never by my side.
I don't mind, after all he saved my life.
Dining for one, table for two.
Id set it each morning, putting a single flower in the middle, a white one.
It added the slightest bit of colour to this place. It was new, and cold.
No life inside, only an empty girl's heart.
What was strange though was the relationship she held with this man, this God as the village calls him.
He would crawl into her bed on the worst of nights and hold her till she fell asleep, when she woke up, he was never there.
Perhaps it was a friendly gesture that kept her her from insanity.
The loneliness in her heart she felt was nothing short of a doubt.
Every day she came home to him, he only sat in his chair, or watched over the people from his balcony.
Every night was the same.
Don't ask questions.
Don't worry about his injuries.
I must leave him alone
A new morning and once again she wakes up alone, the rain still pouring.
Rhythmical patterns daily performed.
At once her day began.
She walked in the back alleys of Amegakure, no one ever walked through there.
She would keep her head low and her voice to a silence, listening to any one who would be near.
The rain that fell from the sky above hit her over and over again, it didn't't bother her, it was the only way that she could let God know where she was, what she was doing.
Passing the crates and piles of litter on the water soaked path she came to stop, and watch as the villages passed by in such a hurry, frantically trying to get out of the rain, back to their home, back to their families, to the ones that greeted them into the warmth of their arms.
Her head turned, and she walked back the way she came.
Perhaps tonight is a better idea to stock up on food.
She is too young, too fragile to witness any more of this. Her heart was already playing tricks on her.
When she left home, she did not care about public shows.
She went outside to do her choirs.
Home time now, and she sat in her room, quietly, running her fingers through her hair, the sun was setting, another day wasted.
Her coat was hung up and her shoes by the door.
She would sit there, in her room, the door opening, he would enter, walking limply, lightly hunched, his injuries as clear as daylight.
He would walk into her room, striding up to the side of her bed and standing over her. He said nothing, he only stared at the floor, her blue hair ruffled and her hands limp by her sides. She wanted to say something to stop him but she couldn't make her lips move so she just stared at those eyes.
Those perfectly defined eyes that show me he is truly something else.
She felt two fingers slide underneath her chin and she was powerless to resist as he gently lifted her head up. He fixed her with his grey-eyed gaze for a moment, then he leaned forward and kissed her lightly on the side of her face.
"Goodnight, Konan," he whispered, and straightened up and turned to leave. Lightly limping out of the room.
"Please don't go away, not again." Her voice was soft, she would reach out for him, they have never been close, never been together.
He turned, surprised. Her expression was different now, less agitated she looked upset, depressed even. She would reach out and encase his arm and pull him towards her.
He would sit on the side with her, her arms wrapped around him, holding him tightly.
His eyes would only stare down, her head resting against his chest.
His right hand brought up as he would stoke her hair lightly.
"Please, don't leave me, not tonight," She would say weakly, drifting to sleep lightly as she holds tightly onto him.
"I am not going anywhere," He would whisper to her as he would keep his hands on her, holding onto her and refusing to let her go.
